Two days to the Erg Chegaga dunes

The short way into the Sahara: a private 4×4 from Foum Zguid across Lake Iriki, a sunset on the dunes and one night in camp.

Erg Chegaga is one of the most spectacular dune landscapes in Morocco, and it lies about 80 km from Foum Zguid. By 4×4 the way there takes two to three hours, depending on the track and how often you stop to look.

This is our shortest journey and the best first taste: you leave in the afternoon, ride a dromedary into the dunes for sunset, share a Moroccan dinner by the fire, sleep in an equipped tent and are back in Foum Zguid before lunch.

Highlights

  • Private 4×4 and a local driver-guide
